Battlefield: Topics (28/46)
In the Battlefield example, to put it in simple terms - players had more negative things to say, and less positive things to say about BF6, compared to BF2042, whereas expectations and perception of those games would intuitively tell us the opposite. And for Civilization 7 people had less negative things to say, and more positive things to say about the game, compared to Civilization 6, but again, intuitively we would say the opposite. But what are those things people are describing in their reviews? Let's introduce a new method here - Treemap . Bigger area - more reviews in a topic, colors are trying to "group" them together under a major topic. This one is still experimental for us, and we are still figuring out a best way to implement it, so it will be static image I know, I know, this is a lot, and not as interactive as other charts, so we'll try to make it accessible and simplified: Top-left Pink-ish "Positive Enjoyment" - in general about emotions, not that technical. Next to that on the right, Orange "Weapon & Gameplay" - mostly describing really specific things about gameplay, focusing on mechanics. Then we got top-right teal-ish "Other Mixed topics" - mostly spam of memes, short messages, nonsense. Bottom-left blue-ish "Nostalgia & Return" - basically comparisons to older games of the series, or "vibes" of the BF. Next to it - green "Technical & Performance" - including crashes, anti-cheat, network, poor performance, technical. Yellow box is "Controversy" - mostly criticism touching the direction of the development, like EA decisions, Female voices, AI-related stuff. Purple-ish is "Monetization & Value" - talking about money, battle-passes and greed. Red box is about "Content" - that's it, weapons, modes, maps.
