Review length over time (27/46)
I bet you are thinking something like "But what if those games are just worse, poorly optimized and just not worth the price? People are describing real problems which exist." Let's briefly look at what median review length dynamics in time can tell us. These charts are just the tip of what we are gonna explore further, so let's keep it short and highlight only the most interesting things: Negative feedback for these 6 games always is more detailed, having more words. (exception is Hollow Knight, but it doesn't break the picture, just shuffles and stretches it a bit, because of low sample size) We have evidence of "positive review bombing" with Silksong, which can partly describe its successful launch and its virality (or virality can explain short positive reviews) Even though Civilization 7 had arguably a "terrible" release, it had slightly more detailed positive feedback, and less, or equally detailed negative, compared to Civilization 6. Much more successful launch of BF6 had more negative detail than BF2042, and less positive detail on the other hand.
